Who We Are

With a track record in both the academic and consulting world’s Dr. Erica Seville (nee Erica Dalziell) is able to bring a unique mix of experience and expertise to any project. 

• After completing her Ph.D. in risk assessment, Erica worked in London for three years as a risk management consultant providing strategic thinking on risk management and corporate governance issues for leading public and private sector clients.

• Erica also spent a year working with JP Morgan Chase, a leading investment bank in London as P&L controller for one of their largest trading books and as a member of a ‘controls blitz’ team to manage operational risks during the trade settlement process.

• More recently, since returning from London, Erica has been a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Canterbury, teaching and researching in the fields of risk management and complex systems analysis.

As well as being a director of Risk Strategies, Erica also leads a six year research programme “Resilient Organisations” at the University of Canterbury. This research is developing innovative strategies for improving the resilience of New Zealand organisations to major hazard events. 

Erica has a Ph.D. in Risk Assessment and a Bachelors of Civil Engineering.
